AGCO Italy HR on stage at EIMA International 2014

During difficult conditions in the industry it is still important to market AGCO as an employer and attract top talent. This was the case for the HR team in Italy at a recent EIMA Event held in Bologna. At the event, the HR organization of Italy was on hand to welcome large numbers of visitors and students, give them information about our organization and engage them in discussions about career opportunities at AGCO.

To introduce visitors to AGCO, the HR team distributed materials including a brochure called “Amazing Careers at AGCO” which explains career and professional development opportunities. Interested visitors were also asked to complete a questionnaire in order to collect useful information on their professional profile.

“This was my first time at EIMA”, declared enthusiastically Mirko Bertuzzo, HR Talent Management & Acquisition at Breganze Harvesting Operations. “It was an amazing opportunity for me to get in touch with customers and colleagues of other brands and sites and, most important, I had the possibility to introduce our Company as a benchmark in our industry to many young visitors. Some of them could become our employees one day, and some also our customers!”.

Mirko collected diverse interesting applications, among which AGCO Harvesting Operations Breganze proved to be attractive also for foreign engineers and even for employees who are nowadays operative by some of our competitors.

“Engineers are the most interesting professionals for us today. Since we are mostly focused on developing high-technology products, we always need new energy for our R & D area. Specialized technicians are also important for us: such machines as combines work only a few days a year and during the harvest we must be able  to offer a prompt reply to our customers ”, explained Mirko to some of the young visitors who presented him their CVs.

EIMA was also the best framework for a specific initiative sponsored by AGCO, Mech@grijob. The event, organized by Unacma (the Italian National Federation of Agricultural Machines Dealers) in cooperation with a considerable number  of Italian schools and institutes aimed to offer a general overview on the agricultural mechanization industry and on the employment perspectives in our sector both at the dealer net and at a corporate level. The Breganze HR organization actively participated to Mech@grijob inviting some schools and universities, mainly mechanical- and electronic-engineering branches.

This was an attractive opportunity for many young students who actively participated to several workshops and meetings and presented their applications looking for a possible internship. But it also was a further opportunity for us to be on stage and represent our Company.  “We organized twice a day meetings with schools sharing a presentation on the importance of the agriculture industry in Italy, describing our Company and the Harvesting Business. We wanted to enhance students’ motivation to a career in mechatronic, marketing, after sales or what else in this industry and were able to reach 300 students”, concluded Mirko.

Our colleague Daniele Seganfreddo Product Manager at Breganze attended some workshops where he explained what it means being dedicated to such a specific machine as a combine from a product point of view, while Gianluca Reina, Area Sales Manager for southern Italy, illustrated the activities and tasks of his role. Luciano Parise, Manager, Marketing  and Simonetta Lambrocco, Communications and PR Manager Harvesting Breganze took part to the conclusive round table highlighting the importance of a strict connection between institutions and  schools  and our industry.  HR plays of course a primary role in this.
