AGCO raises the bar in the combines business

Major investments in the Breganze production plant, in the customer experience activity and in the product line further enhance AGCO Dealer Exclusivity Strategy

Breganze, July 2014.  AGCO has been significantly investing at its center of excellence European Harvesting Operations - Breganze in the last 36 months.

“The latest investments made in Breganze can only reinforce how strong AGCO’s commitment to quality is. During the last 36 months we have brought to the market major product news and substantially elevated our manufacturing processes”, says Francesco Quaranta, Vice President and General Manager Global Combines Harvesting at AGCO, “The results are easy to be recognized at the Italian facility”.

A new 6.000 m2 facility has been built, that provides a fully automated paint process giving exceptional quality for all painted items. Today, the new system installed in Breganze is the most recent and modern combines paint system in the world, capable to provide the best paint technology available in the market: electrophoretic and powder coating. The combination of 13 overhead mobile chains, 14 big tanks, 39 pumps, 10 ovens and a powder boost allows a paint capacity up to 10 combines per day with 850 parts per machines to be painted.

In the production plant a new high-tech robotic system fully automated for header welding offers top technology and maximum efficiency also for big dimension cutting headers. Thanks to all these technological innovations the factory capacity can further increase the manufacturing volumes. Among others, a new engineering prototype center has been installed to create capacity for the upcoming new product introduction. A new shipping area will assure the right place to manage shipments and fit winter covers for AGCO combines, which is an AG industry exclusive.

A world class visitor center, the Agridome, was inaugurated in March 2013 to deliver a top level customer experience to all guests and potential customers. The facility covers 1.550 m2 to display products and offers accommodation for about 500 people under a 10,5 m high modern facility. Since its opening the Agridome hosted about 4.200 visitors from all over the world. “It is important that our clients feel the exclusive visitor experience at the first sight as they walk into Breganze, and appreciate the care and quality we dedicate to everything we do, from manufacturing the combine harvesters to welcoming our guests,” declared Francesco Quaranta at the official inauguration.

Major investments have been also made in the engineering area and today the Breganze engineering fully interacts with all the other AGCO’s engineering departments around the world in order to develop, review and adopt common global standards. Global modular engineering makes specialization its key strength: each engineering department specialises in the development of different modules, finding the best solution and then can share it at a global level. It is not by chance that the Machine Of the Year on combines at Agritechnica last November was a premium range Breganze combine.

After only 36 months, Breganze is able to offer a full range of combines having the same stylish family look and common technology.

All series, from Utility to Hi-line and Premium range, now boast a sleek styling which also means increased comfort, thanks to the new spacious Proline Cab (Utility range) and the Skyline Cab (Hiline and Premium range) assuring excellent sound isolation, perfect all-round visibility along with an air suspension seat and electrically adjustable wing mirrors. Well designed one piece side panels provide perfect access for service and maintenance by contributing to a stylish family look on all series.

In addition to all of that, all series now offer superb on-board technology: TechTouch 2 terminal (Proline Cab) and TechTouch terminal (Skyline Cab) + convenient and ergonomic command console. These are the central combine managers that provide automatic settings and monitor all the operations. On top of this, AgCommand ready is standard on the Hi-line and Premium series of combines produced at Breganze Operations, so they are prepared to have the system installed easily delivering an additional value to the final customers. AgCommand is a leading edge data recording and transmission tool that allows our customers to optimise their fleet performance by monitoring and reporting machine position, history and status. It can also monitor operating costs and enhance productivity.

All of this is the living proof of AGCO strong commitment to Harvesting supporting its Dealer network exclusivity strategy. Today, AGCO Dealers can offer a full line product range to their customers.

These and other innovations will be presented at the EIMA International from the 12th to the 16th November - Bologna
