LAVERDA, three new combine-harvester ranges in less than two years

Thanks to the success enjoyed after the M306 model was launched in
November 2002, Laverda’s M Series of combine-harvesters now numbers as
many as 6 models.

Two have six straw walkers, i.e. models M 306 and M 305; two have five
straw walkers, models M 304 and M 303, while lastly, there are two with
the LS (Levelling System), i.e. models M 306 LS and M 304 LS.

The Levelling System, which operates by means of rotating final drives,
provides the machine with stability and a regular threshing action.
This system in our combines, ensures 20% levelling crosswise and 8%
longitudinally.

The luxury Commodore Cab has been designed and built to offer the
utmost in comfort, also because it makes driving extremely simple and
provides optimum ergonomics, making the combines reliable and fit for
all-purpose use.
The new Commodore Cab is also equipped with a new automatic air
conditioner that allows the operator to work in the fields in tip-top
comfort.

Certain innovative devices guarantee maximum performance levels and
allow the crops to be treated in an optimum way:
the GSA (Ground Self Alignment), which automatically regulates the
cutter bar in a crosswise direction in relation to the ground,
the PFR (Prepare and Feeding Roller), a system that feeds the crop
constantly and evenly to the threshing components,
the tried-and-tested MCS (Multi Crop Separator), which separates even
the last grains escaped from the action of the drum. The MCS, an
exclusive Laverda device, gives also the possibility to disengage the
concave of the second drum in order to be used to aerate the fragile
straw into the long straw walkers.

The grain tanks are large in capacity: 9,000 or 8,200 litres, depending
on the models. Versions M304 and M306 have now been equipped with a
new, electrically operated tank.

The CATERPILLAR engines installed in models M 306, M 305, M 304 and the
IVECO ones in M 303, provide the M series combine-harvesters with all
the power they need for high level performances at minimum servicing
costs, making an investment in one of Laverda’s combines even more
profitable.

In November 2003, Laverda re-vamped its range of AL combines for
mountain areas by including another two models.
255 AL 4WD with 5 straw walkers and the MCS system, is able to work on
slopes with gradients of as much as 40% across, 30% up and 10% down in
the longitudinal direction. Harvesting takes place in full safety
thanks to the permanent 4-wheel drive, which is part of the standard
set-up with these machines.
The 184 AL is the front-line model, the only one available in the
market with 4 straw walkers. It guarantees the same performances when
it comes to levelling, and is designed for farmers who need a tough and
productive machine with an excellent price-profitability ratio.
The AL series also features new, wide side casings that make access to
the pulsating heart of the machine easier, for extremely simple
servicing operations.

For the 2004 – 2005 campaign, Laverda launched a new series of
combine-harvesters: the REV series. Designed for customers who keep a
very careful eye on the economic aspect of their investments, ones who
choose a reliable, efficient, high-performance and all-purpose machine,
the REV series enjoys a medium placing on the market.
There are three models, two with 5 straw walkers - models 225 REV and
255 REV – and one with 6 straw walkers, model 256 REV.

The cutting header is equipped with a system well known for its
efficacy, the Terra Control, which allows the cutting height to be
preset in two regulating stages.

The threshing components, with their optimum dimensions, comprise a
tough drum with 8 ballast bars and a concave with exclusive,
independent regulation on both the inlet and outlet, in addition to the
innovative REV module.
A good threshing system must quickly adapt to the different harvesting
conditions so as to prevent the grains and straw from being damaged and
to get the most out of the performances provided by the
combine-harvester. This is why Laverda proposes the REV module besides
the tried-and-tested conventional threshing components. It includes a
REV drum and an extension to this, the REV segment, which can be set up
in 3 different positions: the ideal accessory for an all-purpose use.
A 20% increase in the separation surface plus a winding angle of 120°,
are essential factors when it comes to the operation and success of
Laverda’s REV Series combine harvesters.

The powerful IVECO engines of the NEF series with « Common Rail »
injection provide a 220 HP rating for the 225 REV model and 255 HP for
models 255 REV and 256 REV.

Comfortable surroundings, visibility and ergonomics are the
characteristics that distinguish the « Élégance » cab featured by the
REV combines. A driver’s area with intuitive controls is a must if a
good combine is to be used in a rational way. Thanks to the Agritronic
computer in the cab, just a glance is all the operator needs to monitor
his machine while it works.

With three complete combine-harvester ranges, Laverda is well able to
satisfy the needs of European farmers with reliable, high-performance
and all-purpose machines.
