Experience acquired during more than 130 years of history has made Laverda one of the most competent manufacturers of combine-harvesters of world-wide fame

Breganze, 03.10.2006.

Experience acquired during more than 130 years of history has made Laverda one of the most competent manufacturers of combine-harvesters of world-wide fame. Right from the time the very first self-propelled combine made its appearance in 1956, the company from Breganze has always stood out for the attention it pays to the market and its constantly evolving demands.Innovation and research, a sense of style and the exclusive technical solutions proposed have always guided and continue to guide Laverda’s planning engineers as they create attractive, comfortable, toughly-built, innovative machines that are always high on performance. To satisfy the increasingly more specific demands from farming professionals who keep a watchful eye on costs, the changing harvesting conditions and crops, Laverda will be presenting new solutions for the 2007 campaign as well.
The new green engines don’t just comply with the most recent anti-pollution laws but, and above all, they have been designed to assure the very lowest fuel consumption, the utmost in running economy and very long life. When it comes to the top-range models, a newly designed electronic system controls the power in an intelligent way so as to provide extra power when the operating conditions get difficult. But the 7.60 m cutting bar will also be completely new, as will the grain tank with new electrically controlled extensions and the new filling system. The operating conditions will be even more comfortable thanks to a computerized analysis of the sound level in the cab, which has allowed us to optimize the degree of soundproofing.

The new M Special Power Series makes its debut
Highly productive and efficient as soon as the crop touches the cutting table: the new M Special Power Series counts on the exclusive electronic GSAX, Ground Self Alignment Extra system which allows the combine to achieve an even cut in even the most difficult harvesting conditions. Electronic management increases the sensitivity of the system and makes it more reactive. The cutting table is adapted to the ground in the longitudinal and lateral directions, thus maintaining an even cutting height and ensuring that the cutting table exercises a constant pressure on the ground. There are two automatic height adjustments: from 50 to 180 mm for short crops or from 100 to 500 mm for taller crops.
The M Special Power Series will be equipped with a standardized electric connector to make the controls more reliable and allow the cutting table to be coupled to the machine more easily.
The PFR, Prepare and Feeding Roller will be equipped with larger fingers to convey the product to the elevator chute in a more fluid and efficient way.
The advantages are evident: perfect threshing, fade-free efficiency from the combine, less power required, lower fuel consumption and longer lasting transmissions. Without damaging either the crop or the environment.
The new transmission system for controlling the cutting table is not just installed on the M Special Power Series but on all the 2007 series of flat-land combines, and will feature Power Band belts. It will allow the operator to work in more comfortable conditions and will cut maintenance down to the minimum.
Another important innovation for the new M Special Power Series is the new MCS Plus, Multi Crop Separator Plus system: the MCS device, which subjects the crop to a forced action that separates it from the straw before it reaches the straw-walkers and which can be deactivated if the crop is delicate with easily broken straw, now includes another remarkable advantage thanks to the integrated REV module.
This means that, besides the ability to differentiate the separation capacity to suit the type of threshed crop and its condition, the MCS PLUS device provides the further advantage of increasing the separation surface by 20% as well as widening the winding angle to 120° while still being able to get the most out of the entire length of the straw-walkers. Increasingly higher performance is guaranteed.
The new grain tank filling system is another of the innovations that characterize the M Special Power series. The system has been moved to a new position so as to use the tank's large capacity in a better and more fluid way, all to the advantage of profitability.
The new green SISU Diesel engines chosen for the M Special Power Series combines are low on fuel consumption, highly economical to run and very long lasting. In the top-range models, a newly designed electronic system controls the power in an intelligent way so as to provide extra power when the operating conditions get difficult.
The M Special Power Series is Laverda’s answer to customers who need to get the very most out of every work day. This is why a larger fuel tank has been installed, for 30% more autonomy.
When it comes to comfort and looks, the M Special Power Series will be equipped with a Commodore Cab with extra soundproofing and attractive interiors in colours that are easy on the eye.

LCS, Laverda Crop System Series: the range becomes more comprehensive
Besides the already well-known 256 LCS and 255 LCS combines, a new model for flat land, the 296 LCS, will add to Laverda Crop System Series and satisfy the customers’ requests. There’ll also be a specific model for use on hillsides, the 255 LCS Levelling System combine also dedicated to the medium-high market bracket.
Similarly to the M Special Power Series, the LCS Series will also be equipped with GSAX, Ground Self Alignment Extra (optional the 256 LCS only). The new 296 LCS combine will feature a SISU Diesel engine and 8,800 litre capacity grain tank equipped with new, electrically controlled extensions and a discharging speed of as much as 85 litres per second.
The 255 LCS LS combine comes with an exclusive levelling system that keeps the body of the machine perfectly level even across slopes exceeding 20% and over 8% in the longitudinal direction.
The standard equipment also includes the OPTION-FOUR device. In a fully automatic way, the OPTION-FOUR device allows the operator, seated comfortably in the driver’s seat, to select levelling in the lateral direction only without moving the body of the machine longitudinally, or to use the longitudinal levelling device as well, depending on the conformation of the ground.
The tried-and-tested 4WD device is available as an option for work on steep slopes or heavy soil.
Along with the high productivity typical of such a large machine, Laverda’s 255 LCS LS combine is unexpectedly agile and easy to manoeuvre.
The machine is levelled automatically by an extremely precise and reliable system controlled by an electronic tilt indicator without any action required from the operator.
Two hydraulic cylinders controlled by solenoid valves turn the front wheel transmissions up or down until the machine has been perfectly levelled horizontally.Fade-free performance even on hillsides, and in total safety.
Thus, the LCS Series stands for high performance, an excellent quality threshed product, simple maintenance and speedier interventions.
Everything has been organized so as to facilitate the servicing work in an extremely rational way:
- side doors to conveniently access the transmissions and internal components;- quickly released rotating filter for easy access to the radiators and other components, such as the air conditioning system. The exclusive “PROFI Cab” has been designed around the operator’s needs. This is why the LCS series cabs provide the utmost when it comes to rational controls, comfort and ergonomics. Here are a few examples:- easy, safe access thanks to the strong steps and large door;- total control and management of the machine with high-level ergonomics thanks to the all-purpose monitor and exclusive joystick;- all-round visibility through the large windows.
Besides the automatic conditioner, the Profi Cab can also be fitted with other options, such as the portable fridge, radio and CD-player, camera with colour display and GPS satellite system.
A comprehensive array of lights allows you to work at night with optimum visibility while the harvesting conditions allow.

The REV Series, re-vamped styling and renewed comfort
The REV Series will also feature innovations in 2007.
Besides the new belt transmission system that controls the cutting table, the new REV Series combines will also sport new colours: grey for both the tyre rims and the tarpaulin that covers the grain tank. The Elegance cab and its interior have also been renewed and will provide the operator with even more comfort in 2007 since the available space has been distributed in a better way to achieve a more functional and ergonomic arrangement.
