Laverda technical innovations on show at Agritechnica 2009

2009-10-30

Hanover, from 8 to 14 November 2009, Hall 4 - Stand A10c

Laverda exhibited two combines at the Agritechnica trade fair, in Hanover: M 306 Special Power Levelling System 4WD with a Free Flow cutting table, and 255 LCS.

There are many new technical developments that involve the entire Laverda combine harvester range for the 2009-2010 sales.

NEW TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS exclusive to the M Series Special Power
For the top of the range, Laverda proposes the new Free Flow cutting header. Supplied with auger with large diameter and increased spiral, Free Flow increases the cropcarrying capacity of the product by 15% and assures excellent feeding of all products, even the most difficult, with the advantage of increasing machine performance.
The strong Free Flow frame, with open profile, allows greater visibility and improved feeding for long-stemmed crops. Moreover, Free Flow also simplifies the hitching and release activities of the machine’s cutter bar.
The hydrostatic pickup reel, positioned on the right side, has a new reel tine bar adjustment device, with newly developed tines (stronger and more flexible) and anti-clogging blades. The improved equilibrium of the masses and simplified transmission allow the reel to work more efficiently, even with beaten products.
The new centralised multiple coupling for all electric and hydraulic controls makes cutter bar hitching with the machine immediate and simple with undeniable time saving and greater precision in hitching and release operations. Moreover, the controls are at the top regarding safety and reliability.
The new conveyor, longer and equipped with a larger intake, has been designed to improve machine performance, thanks to larger capacity and flow continuity of the product and allows coupling with larger cutting headers. The adoption of new cylinders increases the lifting capacity and the operator can count on increased visibility from the cab.
Another important development is the adoption of new control drives for cutter bar and
threshing mechanisms. The drives for control of the cutter bar and threshing mechanisms, positioned on the left side of the machine, have been made even stronger and more reliable: all of the elements are proportioned to
the increased machine performance, pulleys with large diameter and larger multiple belts. This allows improved yield, greater power supply and guarantees longer duration of the components even in difficult conditions and heavy duty jobs.
Another new development, the Laverda exclusive reverser, has triple power with respect to the traditional system and is therefore more efficient. Smoother, more gradual unblocking, assures improved comfort for the operator, who can count on improved operational reliability and safety.

NEW TECHNIQUES – M Series Special Power / LCS Series / REV Series / Self-levelling Series
Laverda proposes important developments for all combine harvester ranges, first of all, a new drive for the hydrostatic unit, positioned on the left side of the machine, even stronger and even more reliable. Also in this case, the pulleys with large diameter and the larger multiple belt ensure improved performance, greater power supply and longer life span of the components also in difficult conditions and heavy duty jobs.
The hydraulic system has also been updated with a new service pump joined to the hydrostatic advancement pump for direct drive and maximum performance, without energy loss.
The new large capacity stone trap, ensures total emptying thanks to its wide aperture and allows, quick, easy access to the prepare surface and the threshing mechanisms without altering the basic regulation of the concave. This reduces intervention times for cleaning and control of the threshing mechanisms and makes maintenance operations very quick.
The second generation Agritronic Plus on-board computer is supplied with new and modern software. More functional and easy to manage thanks to three separate and independent modules, the operator interface offers a distinct display of the performance and efficiency parameters of the machine.

NEW TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS – OPTIONAL M Series Special Power / LCS Series / REV Series / Self-levelling Series
The “Ceres 8000 i” on-board computer for monitoring performance and recording output levels, is a state-of-the-art instrument with DGPS technology.
The display indicates the weight and the humidity of the product harvested and the performance of the machine in real time as well as the yield of the land on which it is operating, determining the cartography. This allows total control of the harvesting activity in progress and the final harvest, which can be recorded using SD card and printing the data. The advantages are evident: optimisation of good agricultural practice, rationalisation of management activity, profit increases.
